Laguna Hills~The La Mirada Boys soccer team beat Laguna Hills today 2-1 in a CIF-SS Division IV semifinal game; advancing to the finals for the first time in school history.

The Matadores (22-0-4), are trying to achieve what their football brothers accomplished just a couple of months ago, a CIF championship.

The Matadores lost the Suburban League on points, but still have not lost a game this year (four ties). With the victory, the Mats also set a school record for wins (23).

Saturday's game time for the title match, and the site, will be announced shortly.

La Mirada~The Halloween Club of Santa Fe Springs is moving to La Mirada-in fact, it has already opened for business.

Because of the I-5 Wideing Project, the business is being forced to move. The Halloween Club-a year round operation- will occupying the old Gateway Chevrolet site on Firestone Blvd. The Santa Fe Springs site is also on Firestone.

Not only will this provide a large sales tax boom for the city, improvements can be expected on the property, which has become an eyesore recently.
